How to book our services
Our booking process is designed so both you and us can get to know each other at each stage. You or we can choose to stop or change direction at any point if either side feels it’s not a good fit.
You can see our pricing, terms and conditions, and how our place looks through our social media pages and Google Maps.
Take time to get a feel for how we care for the pets and decide if you’re comfortable reaching out to book a service via WhatsApp.
Message us to tell us about your pet, which service you’d like (boarding, daycare, or sitting), your preferred dates, and any questions you have.
We’ll reply and ask you questions in return so we can understand your pet’s needs and your expectations. If both sides feel it’s a good match, we’ll send you a booking form to fill in.
We’ll review your completed form and may ask more questions to clarify details and make sure we fully understand what you and your pet need.
-
For dogs, if everything looks suitable, we’ll schedule a paid trial daycare.
-
For cats, if the form and answers fit, we’ll usually proceed with boarding.
-
If you prefer pet sitting, we’ll arrange a meet‑and‑greet at your home to get to know your pet, learn their routine, and check where everything is kept.
At any point, if we feel we can’t safely or comfortably meet your expectations, or if your pet’s needs are beyond what we can provide, we’ll recommend other options that may be a better fit.
Once you start using our services, we’ll keep you updated regularly with text, photos, and videos.
For boarding and daycare, it’s normal if your pet doesn’t seem overly excited when you pick them up; they may still be enjoying themselves with their friends here.
Not a kennel, not a cage, a home
Pet boarding at Swirly and Friends is nothing like a kennel. There are no rows of cages, no pets locked in cubicles, no one left alone at night. Your pet moves freely around a real home, the same home we live in, with other carefully selected pets, and nannies who are always present.
Whether you are going on holiday, dealing with a house renovation, or on maternity leave, your pet has a safe and comfortable place to be. One where you will actually hear from us, every single day.

Dog boarding
Dogs are not just looked after here. They play with resident pets, make friends with regulars, and get the kind of engagement that keeps them genuinely happy.
Outdoor and indoor play, real socialisation, and humans who are present all day and all night.

Cat boarding
Every cat family gets a private, human-sized bedroom. No shared spaces with unfamiliar cats, no small cubicles, no cages.
Your cats settle in at their own pace. Exploring, napping, hiding if they need to, in a room that is entirely theirs for the duration of their stay.

Small animal boarding
Small pets need quiet, safety and space to settle in. Every rabbit, guinea pig, hamster stays in their own private room.
No crowded cubicles, no stressful mixing with unfamiliar animals. Just gentle care, calm routines, and humans nearby throughout the day and night.
First time boarding? we get it
Leaving your pet for the first time is hard. Your brain keeps asking: what if they're not fine?
We hear this a lot. It is one of the reasons we started Swirly and Friends.
For anxious or sensitive pets, we take extra care. We watch, adjust and give them the time they need. Some pets take a day to settle, some a couple of days. Others surprise us by the end of day one. Either way, we will tell you honestly how they are doing, not just what you want to hear.
For new dogs, we require a paid trial daycare session before their first boarding stay. It is not just a rule, it genuinely helps. Your dog gets to meet us, explore the space and figure out that this place is safe. After the trial, we will recommend next steps and by the time boarding day comes, they feel familiar.
"Snoopy is quite sensitive to his environment and usually isolates himself outside of home. But Christina was able to create a safe environment for him, and he started interacting with the other dogs."

What happens at boarding?
🌅 Morning — Breakfast time. Dogs go for walks. A check-in on how everyone slept, how they're eating and how they're feeling. Most kids check-in and check-out this period.
☀️ Afternoon — Playtime for the dogs, indoors and outdoors. Cats nap in their spots, or play if they feel like it. Photos and videos sent to you on WhatsApp throughout the day.
🌙 Night — Dogs go for walks. Dinner, winding down, settling in. We are here. The pets are never alone.
Before you book
- All pets must be healthy, tick-free, flea-free and up to date on vaccinations and preventives. See full vaccination requirements here.
- New dogs require a paid trial daycare session before their first boarding stay. This helps us understand your dog's temperament and makes their overnight stay much smoother. Please allow at least 2 weeks' notice before your intended boarding date.

Questions about pet boarding
Fresh filtered water is always available. We ask that you bring your pet's own food. Every pet has their own diet, preferences and allergies, and we want to keep their routine as consistent as possible.
We send photos and videos to your WhatsApp throughout the day. You can also message us anytime and we will reply as soon as we can. You will never have to wonder.
Yes, we care for both dogs and cats, and they are kept in separate spaces so everyone stays comfortable. Dogs have the free-roaming common areas and outdoor space. Cats have their own private bedrooms.
We do not have size restrictions, but we assess each dog individually based on temperament, sociability and how transparent the owner is about their dog's behaviour. Our priority is making sure every pet in our care feels safe, including yours.
We monitor all pets closely throughout the day. If we notice anything unusual like a change in appetite, behaviour or health, we will contact you immediately and consult our trusted vet if needed. You will always be the first to know. We will also ask if you like us to send your pet to the vet and we will update you on the vet's diagnosis and treatment plan.
