Dogs are not built for long stretches alone.
Most can manage a few hours. But a full workday (8, 9, sometimes 10 hours) is a long time. An empty house with nothing to do, boredom sets in, anxiety builds. Some dogs bark. Some chew. Some just wait by the door the whole time.
At Swirly and Friends, your dog spends their day the way dogs are meant to. Moving, playing, socialising and resting in their own time. In a real home, with people who are actually there.
Dog daycare is not a luxury. For dogs who need company and stimulation, it is genuinely part of caring for them well.
A day at Swirly and Friends
🌅 Morning drop-off — Your dog arrives and settles in. Introductions done at their pace if it is their first time. They will see familiar faces if they have been before.
☀️ Through the day — Playtime indoors and outdoors. Downtime when they need it. Socialisation with resident pets and the regulars. We watch energy levels, temperaments and how everyone is getting along, adjusting the group dynamics when needed. Photos and videos sent to your WhatsApp so you can peek in on their day.
🌆 Pick-up time — A spent, happy and enriched dog. A full day of real activity, not from sitting alone. The kind of happy that tells you it was the right call.

Daycare is how we get to know your dog
The first daycare session is how we learn about your dog, how they play, how they communicate, how they respond to new people and pets.
We require a trial daycare session before any boarding stay so when your dog does come for an overnight stay, they already know this place and us. The transition is smoother, the settling time is shorter, and the whole experience is better for them and for you.
Many of our most loyal boarding clients started with a single daycare session. Some bring their dogs weekly now. Many have been coming for years.
Who is daycare for?

🐕 High-energy dogs — Dogs that need more stimulation than a morning walk can give them. A full day of play makes a real difference.

Before you book
- All dogs must be healthy, tick-free, flea-free and up to date on vaccinations and preventives. See full vaccination requirements here.
- The first daycare session is a paid trial. This is how we assess temperament and sociability — and how your dog gets comfortable with us before any boarding stay.
- Bring your dog's own food for the day. Water is always available.
- Breed acceptance depends on temperament, socialisation history and how openly you share your dog's background with us. We assess every dog individually.
Questions about dog daycare
Drop-off is from 10AM and pick-up is by 6PM. If you need to drop off or pick up outside these hours, let us know and we will check if we can accommodate — additional charges may apply.
Fresh filtered water is always available. Please bring your dog's own food. Every dog has their own diet, portion size and preferences, and keeping their routine consistent helps them settle in faster.
We send photos and videos to your WhatsApp throughout the day. You can also message us anytime — we reply as soon as we can. Most pet parents tell us the updates are the best part of their workday. 😄
Yes — and the trial session is designed exactly for this. It gives your dog a chance to experience the space, meet us and get comfortable before anything feels permanent. Some dogs take an hour to relax. Others need the whole day. Either way, we will tell you honestly how they went.
Absolutely — and many do. Regular daycare dogs become familiar faces here. They have their favourite spots, their regular friends, and a routine that they genuinely look forward to. If you are thinking about a weekly or recurring arrangement, just mention it when you WhatsApp us.
