We started this because of Swirly
Swirly is our baby
Years ago when Swirly was young, we planned a short trip to Penang.
We checked online for a boarding place in Subang Jaya and PJ but there were not many options. No postings in over a year, old reviews or pet shops, caged kennels and cubicles.
We asked the pet adopters community where Swirly herself was adopted from.
There was a home boarding place that a few recommended. Being new pet parents, we didn't know better so we trusted them.
We were so wrong.
At drop-off, the boarder casually told us last minute that she was going on holiday tomorrow. Her parents would be caring for Swirly instead. During our trip, we kept checking in, asking how Swirly was. Our messages went unanswered until the following day.
We received one photo of our girl. Only one.
What we came back to... broke our hearts.
During pick up, we asked how was she and what was the weather like. And it all came out. Swirly had been left outside on the porch, alone during a thunderstorm. Heavy rain pouring. Lightning flashing. Thunder cracking.
Our poor girl was wet, frightened and alone.
It remains one of our biggest regrets.
Her leash? Damaged by another dog. Not mentioned until we arrived to pick-up.
We were disappointed, sad...but more than anything:
If this could happen at a place that came recommended, how many other pets and their families are going through the same thing?
So we did something about it.
During the pandemic, a rescuer asked if we wanted to help with fostering. We said yes so Swirly would have friends to play with. We fostered puppies and kittens, and found forever homes for them.
Except two foster fails. Nopi and Luci.
When restrictions lifted, some of those adopters reached out. "Could you help look after our kids?"
Those were our first clients.
Over time, more clients asked us to care for theirs. Christina left her corporate job and poured everything in. Every furkid that stays with us is cared for the way we wish Swirly had been:
safe, loved and never, ever left alone.

Who is Team Swirly
There was a time we had 9-to-5 careers and the furkids. No matter how hard we worked at the office, it never felt as fulfilling as being with them.
So we stopped pretending otherwise. Now we spend our days doing what we love, caring for our furkids and yours.
This is not just a business. It is our life.
Our place is where we would send our kids to: cage-free, free-roaming with 24-hour care and a homely atmosphere.
A place where your furkids can feel safe and loved, like at home.
